Set Up Screen Lock - Samsung Galaxy Tab® 2 (10.1)

Note Notes:

  • If using Microsoft® Exchange / Corporate sync, some screen lock options (e.g., Pattern, PIN) may be unavailable.
  • These steps can also be utilized to change your current screen lock setting.

 

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings > Screen lock.
  2. Tap Screen lock.
    Note If presented, enter the current PIN, password, pattern or facial scan.
    Note If prompted to add a GoogleTM account:
  3. Tap one of the following:
    Face Unlock
    Pattern
    PIN
    Password

 

Face Unlock

Note A facial scan is captured then utilized to access the device.

  1. Tap Set it up.
  2. Tap Continue.
    Note For best results, find an indoor location with good lighting.
  3. Align the facial outline to capture face.
  4. Tap Continue.
  5. Select one of the following backup locks.
    Pattern
    PIN

Pattern

Note An unlock pattern is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Draw an unlock pattern (connecting at least 4 dots) then tap Continue.
  2. Re-draw the pattern again then tap Confirm.
  3. Tap OK.
  4. If prompted, enter a backup PIN.

PIN

Note A PIN is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Enter a numeric PIN (4 to 16 digits) then tap Continue.
  2. Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap OK.

Note A password is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Enter a password (4 to 16 characters) then tap Continue.
  2. Re-enter the password then tap OK.
