  • To share media files, an active Wi-Fi connection must be established. Refer to the following for assistance:
  • To play or copy media to / from other devices (e.g., computer, TV, etc.), they must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network and may need to be configured for sharing. Refer to the user manual or contact the equipment manufacturer for assistance.
  • For assistance with setting up a Google® Chromecast™ device, refer to this page.
  • Some apps (e.g., YouTube, Netflix, etc.) support displaying the app contents on a remote display. Within the app, tap the Cast icon Cast icon then select the desired display from the list.

 

Sharing your phone's screen with a TV isn't supported. Here are a few ways to share your screen with a media server or PC with the LG SmartShare app installed. A compatible display or additional accessories may be required. Check with your computer or media server manufacturer for additional support.

Share Pictures, Videos or Music

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Settings icon.
  2. Tap Share & connect.
  3. Tap Media server.
  4. Tap Content sharing to enable.
    Note Enabled when a checkmark Check box icon is present.
  5. Tap the desired option (Photos, Videos, or Music) then tap OK.
  6. Navigate to the appropriate folder, (the download folder is the default save location).
  7. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right).
  8. Tap Play.
  9. Select the preferred file(s) then tap Play.
    Note Enabled when a checkmark is present.

Share with a PC Using the SmartShare App

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Verizon folder icon > Settings Settings icon.
  2. Tap Share & connect.
  3. Tap the SmartShare Beam switch to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.

Media Server Settings (DLNA)

Note Configure these settings to share files with a DLNA-enabled device (e.g., TV, game console, etc.). To determine whether your device supports the DLNA standard, see this product database.

  1. From a home screen, tap Apps Apps > Settings Settings icon.
  2. From Settings tap Share & connect.
  3. Tap Media server.
  4. Tap Content sharing to turn on or off.
    Note Enabled when a checkmark Check Mark icon is present.
  5. Tap Content to share.
  6. Select any of the following then tap OK:
    • Photos
    • Videos
    • Music
  7. Tap Receive content to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a checkmark is present.
  8. Tap Sharing request then select 'Always allow' or 'Always ask'.
