Add an Existing Google™ Account - Samsung Galaxy Note® Edge

Note If you don't already have an account, refer to Create a New Google Account.

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps Apps icon (located in the lower-right).
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap Settings Settings icon.
  3. From the ACCOUNT section, tap Accounts.
  4. Tap Add account.
  5. Tap Google.
  6. Enter the Gmail address then tap NEXT Next icon (located in the middle; above the keyboard).
  7. Enter the Gmail password then tap NEXT Next icon (located in the middle; above the keyboard).
  8. Review the appropriate Terms of Service / Privacy Policy then tap ACCEPT.
  9. If presented with "Upgrade to Google+", tap NOT NOW.
    Note Google+ setup can be completed later by navigating Apps > Google+ from a Home screen.
  10. From the "Google services" screen, ensure the following options are configured appropriately then tap the NEXT Next icon.
    Note Options vary and are enabled when a check mark is present.
    Automatically backup device data
    Uses the Google Account to backup apps, settings (such as bookmarks and Wi-Fi passwords) and other data.
    Communication
    Keep up to date with news and offers from Google Play.
  11. If presented with the "Set up payment info" screen, select No thanks then tap CONTINUE Next icon.
    Note Payment info can be completed later by navigating Apps > Play Store from a Home screen, tap a paid app, tap Continue then select a payment method.
  12. If presented with Entertainment screen, tap NOT NOW.
  13. If presented, configure the appropriate synchronization settings (e.g., Sync Contacts, Sync Calendar, etc.) then tap the NEXT Next icon.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
