Samsung Galaxy Core Prime™ - Add a Virtual Private Network

A virtual private network (VPN) encrypts your internet traffic and protects your online identity via a secured remote server and is most commonly used when remotely accessing company systems (e.g., company email, intranet sites, etc.).
 

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps > Settings > More networks.
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap VPN then tap Basic VPN.
  3. If presented with a lock screen notification, tap OK.
    Note Refer to Unlock the Device (pattern, PIN or password only) for assistance.
  4. Tap the Add icon + (upper-right).
  5. From the 'Name' field, enter the appropriate name.
    Note Contact the VPN admin for assistance with server information and credentials.
  6. From the 'Type' field, tap the Dropdown menu Drop down menu icon (on the right) then select the VPN type:
    • PPTP
    • L2TP/IPSec PSK
    • L2TP/IPSec RSA
    • IPSec Xauth PSK
    • IPSec Xauth RSA
    • IPSec Hybrid RSA
  7. Enter the required information into the applicable fields then tap Save (lower-right).
    Note If applicable, tap Show advanced options to configure the following:
    Note The available options vary depending upon the selected VPN type.
    • DNS search domains
    • DNS servers
    • Forwarding routes
    • OCSP Web address
