Samsung Galaxy Core Prime™ - Auto Switch Between Wi-Fi & Mobile Data Networks

To automatically switch from a weak or unstable Wi-Fi network to the Verizon Wireless cellular network to preserve a consistent data connection, view this info.

Note Notes:

  • When enabled, this advanced setting allows the device to switch from a weak or unstable Wi-Fi network to the Verizon Wireless cellular network to preserve consistent data throughput.
  • This function is not enabled by default; the device prompts the user to enable the feature the first time they experience poor Wi-Fi connectivity Wifi weak.

 

Caution When connected to the Verizon Wireless cellular network, data overage charges may apply (depending upon data plan). For data usage information, refer to the My Verizon website.

  1. Slide down the Notification bar then tap Your Internet connection is unstable.
    Connection unstable
  2. If presented with the 'The Internet connection via this Wi-Fi network is unstable' pop-up, tap OK.
    Note When the Wi-Fi connection is unstable, tapping OK activates this feature and the device automatically switches to the mobile network.
    Note If preferred, tap 'Do not show again' before tapping 'OK' to prevent the unstable Wi-Fi connection prompt.

Enable or Disable the Auto Network Switch Setting

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings > Wi-Fi.
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (located in the upper-right).
  3. Tap Advanced.
  4. Tap Smart network switch to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  5. If presented with the 'Mobile data may be used...may result in additional charges...' prompt, tap OK to continue.
