Add a Virtual Private Network - Nexus 6™

A virtual private network (VPN) encrypts your internet traffic and protects your online identity via a secured remote server and is most commonly used when remotely accessing company systems (e.g., company email, intranet sites, etc.).

Note Contact the VPN administrator for assistance with server information and credentials.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings Settings icon  > More.
  2. Tap VPN.
  3. If presented with a lock screen notification, tap OK.
    Note Refer to Set Up Screen Lock (Pattern, PIN or Password only) for assistance.
  4. Tap the Add icon Add icon (upper-right).
  5. From the Name field, enter the appropriate name.
  6. From the Type field, tap the Dropdown menu (located to the right of the field) then select the VPN type:
    • PPTP
    • L2TP/IPSec PSK
    • PSK L2TP/IPSec RSA
    • IPSec Xauth PSK
    • IPSec Xauth RSA
    • IPSec Hybrid RSA
  7. Enter the required info into the applicable fields then tap Save (lower-right).
    Note If applicable, tap Show advanced options to configure the following:
    Note The available options vary depending upon the selected VPN type.
    • DNS search domains
    • DNS servers
    • Forwarding routes
    • OCSP Web address
