Verizon Ellipsis® 8 - Factory Data Reset (Powered Off)

A factory data reset may help with a blank or frozen screen, apps crashing or freezing, keypad/touchscreen problems, can't hear, device making noises, can't make or receive calls, and device won't sync.

Caution Perform a factory data reset only if absolutely necessary as it removes all data including:

  • Contacts
  • Email accounts
  • System and app data
  • App settings
  • Downloaded apps
  • Media (Music, pictures and videos, etc.)

Note An alternate reset method is available if the device can be powered on and is responsive.

  1. Ensure the device is powered off.
  2. Simultaneously press and hold the Volume Up and Power button until "Ellipsis" appears then release.
    Note Screen goes dark then "Android system recovery" screen appears.
  3. Select wipe data/factory reset.
    Note Utilize the Volume down button to highlight and the Volume Up button to select.
  4. Select Yes-delete all user data.
    Note Allow several minutes for the data wipe process to complete.
  5. Select reboot system now.
    Note If applicable, set up your device.
