Tethered Modem Connection - BlackBerry® (Windows®)

Note Notes:

  • For an updated list of supported devices, refer to VZAccess Manager supported devices and platforms.
  • To utilize the wireless device as a tethered modem, the Mobile Broadband Connect feature is required. Refer to the Smartphone and Basic Phone Data Pkgs including MHS for more information.
  • If running VZAccess Manager 6.x (or lower), BlackBerry Desktop Manager / Software must be running. To launch, click Start > Programs (All Programs) > BlackBerry > BlackBerry Desktop Software / Desktop Manager. If not installed, refer to Download / Install BlackBerry Desktop Manager for further assistance.
    Note With Windows 10, click Start > Apps icon Apps Menu icon (located in the top-left corner) > All apps (located in the bottom-left corner) > BlackBerry > BlackBerry Desktop Software / Desktop Manager.

 

  1. Connect the device to the computer via the supplied USB cable / cradle.
  2. Launch VZAccess Manager.
    Note Click Start > Programs (All Programs) > VZAccess Manager.
    Note With Windows 10, click Start > Apps icon Apps Menu icon (located in the top-left corner) > All apps (located in the bottom-left corner) > VZAccess Manager.
    Note If not available, the app can be downloaded and installed.
  3. From the VZAccess Manager main screen, ensure the appropriate Available Network is selected (e.g. Verizon Wireless - VZAccess) then click Connect WWAN (located in the lower-right).
