Set Up Screen Lock - HTC One M9

Note Notes:

  • If using Microsoft® Exchange / Corporate sync, some screen lock options (e.g., Pattern, PIN) may be unavailable.
  • These steps can also be utilized to change your current screen lock setting..

  1. From a Home screen, tap the Apps icon Apps icon (located at the bottom).
  2. Tap Settings.
    Note If unavailable, tap the Dropdown menu Apps dropdown menu icon (located in the upper-left) then select Alphabetical. If still unavailable, refer to Manage App Icons.
  3. From the PERSONAL section, tap Security.
  4. Tap Screen lock.
    Note If presented, enter the current Pattern, PIN, or Password.
  5. Select one of the following:

Pattern

Note An unlock pattern is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Draw an unlock pattern (connecting at least 4 dots) then tap CONTINUE.
  2. Re-draw the pattern then tap CONFIRM.
  3. From the "When your device is locked..." screen, select an option then tap DONE.
    • Show all notification content
    • Hide sensitive notification content
    • Don't show notifications at all
  4. If desired, tap Make pattern visible to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.

PIN

Note A PIN is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Enter a numeric PIN (4 to 16 digits) then tap CONTINUE.
  2. Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap OK.
  3. From the "When your device is locked..." screen, select an option then tap DONE.
    • Show all notification content
    • Hide sensitive notification content
    • Don't show notifications at all

Password

Note A password is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Enter a password (4 to 16 characters) then tap CONTINUE.
  2. Re-enter the password then tap OK.
  3. From the "When your device is locked..." screen, select an option then tap DONE.
    • Show all notification content
    • Hide sensitive notification content
    • Don't show notifications at all
