Auto Restore - HTC One® M9

Prior to completing a factory data reset, view this info to ensure apps and settings are backed up.

Note When attempting to determine whether a third-party app is the cause of an operating system or app issue, ensure Automatic Restore is disabled prior to a performing a factory data reset.

  • Disable Automatic restore prior to a performing a factory data (hard) reset when attempting to determine if a third-party app is the cause of an operating system / app issue.
  • To enable automatic restoration of backed up settings and other data after an app has been reinstalled, ensure Automatic restore is enabled (checked).

  1. From a Home screen, tap the Apps icon Apps icon (located at the bottom).
  2. Tap Settings.
    Note If unavailable, tap the Dropdown menu Applications dropdown menu icon (located in the upper-left) then select Alphabetical. If still unavailable, refer to Manage App Icons.
  3. From the PERSONAL section, tap Backup and reset.
  4. From the BACKUP section, ensure Back up my data is set to ON.
    Note If set to OFF, tap Back up my data then tap the switch (located in the upper-right) to turn on On switch icon
