Samsung Galaxy S® 6 / S® 6 edge - Auto Switch Between Wi-Fi & Mobile Data Networks

To automatically switch from a weak or unstable Wi-Fi network to the Verizon Wireless cellular network to preserve a consistent data connection, view this info.

Note Notes:

  • When enabled, this advanced setting allows the device to switch from a weak or unstable Wi-Fi network to the Verizon Wireless cellular network to preserve consistent data throughput.
  • This function is not enabled by default; the device prompts the user to enable the feature the first time they experience poor Wi-Fi connectivity Wifi weak icon.

Warning When connected to the Verizon Wireless cellular network, data overage charges may apply (depending upon data plan). For data usage info, refer to the My Verizon website.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > Wi-Fi (Wireless and networks section).
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right).
  3. Tap Advanced.
  4. Tap Smart network switch to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
