Turn Voice & Video On / Off - HD Voice - HTC One M9

Caution Caution:

  • HD Voice isn't recommended if you use a 1X/3G Network Extender or a TTY/TDD device.
  • HD Voice on the smartphone must be turned on if you use a 4G Network Extender.
  • If located in Alaska, it's not recommended to turn off HD Voice for troubleshooting purposes as it causes the device to roam off the Verizon Wireless network.

Note Notes:

  • HD Voice calling requires both parties to be in Verizon 4G LTE coverage area, have HD voice capable devices and be provisioned for HD Voice to do simultaneous voice and data.
  • HD Voice is included in existing voice plans and minutes are billed as regular voice calls.

  1. Ensure HD Voice is activated.
  2. From a Home screen, tap the Apps icon Apps icon (located at the bottom).
  3. Tap Settings.
    Note If unavailable, tap the Dropdown menu Applications dropdown menu icon (located in the upper-left) then tap Alphabetical. If still unavailable, refer to Manage App Icons.
  4. From the WIRELESS AND NETWORKS section, tap Advanced Calling.
  5. Tap the Advanced Calling switch to turn on On switch icon or off Off switch icon.
  6. If presented with a confirmation screen, tap OK.
    Note Review the disclaimer regarding billing and data usage.
    Note When video calling is turned on, others can see that the phone has video calling.
