Manage Data Usage - Samsung Galaxy S® 6 / S® 6 edge

To change the data usage cycle on your device, view data usage and set data warnings and restrictions, view this info.

Caution Data usage info provided by the device may differ from actual usage. For data usage info provided by Verizon Wireless, refer to the My Verizon website.

Set Mobile Data Limit

Caution Mobile data (cellular data) is disabled upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the red limit line. To continue to utilize apps dependant upon a data connection (e.g., Browser, Email, Market, etc.), a Wi-Fi connection can be used or Mobile data must be manually re-enabled (overage charges may apply).

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > Data usage (Wireless and networks section).
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap Mobile data usage.
  3. Tap the Gear icon Gear icon (upper-right).
  4. Tap Limit mobile data usage to turn on Switch on.
    Note If prompted, review the message then tap OK.
  5. Tap Data usage limit.
  6. Touch and hold the Red limit line.
  7. Enter the desired MB or GB (e.g., 5.0 GB) then tap SET.

Set Mobile Data Warning

Note A notification message appears upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the orange warning line.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > Date usage (Wireless and networks section).
  2. Tap Alert me about data usage to turn on Switch on.
    Note If prompted, review the message then tap OK.
  3. Tap Mobile data usage.
  4. Tap the Gear icon Gear icon (upper-right).
  5. Tap Data usage warning.
  6. Enter the desired MB or GB (e.g., 2.0 GB) then tap SET.

Change Data Usage Cycle

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > Date usage (Wireless and networks section).
  2. Tap Bill cycle.
  3. Tap Bill cycle.
  4. From the Usage cycle reset date prompt, select the cycle date then tap SET.
    Note Refer to the My Verizon website for billing cycle date.

View Data Usage by App

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > Date usage (Wireless and networks section).
  2. Tap Mobile data usage.
  3. Select an app.
  4. View the usage info.
