Manage Data Usage - HTC One M9

To change the data usage cycle on your device, view data usage and set data warnings and restrictions, view this info.

Caution Data usage info provided by the device may differ from actual usage. For data usage info provided by Verizon Wireless, refer to the My Verizon website.

Change Data Usage Cycle

  1. From a Home screen, tap the Apps icon Apps icon (located at the bottom).
  2. Tap Settings.
    Note If unavailable, tap the Dropdown menu Applications dropdown menu icon (located in the upper-left) then select Alphabetical. If still unavailable, refer to Manage App Icons.
  3. From the WIRELESS & NETWORKS section, tap Data usage.
  4. Tap Reset data usage.
  5. Select the appropriate day then tap OK.
    Note Refer to the My Verizon website for billing cycle date.

Set Mobile Data Alert

Note A notification message appears upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the green warning line.

  1. From a Home screen, tap the Apps icon Apps icon (located at the bottom).
  2. Tap Settings.
    Note If unavailable, tap the Dropdown menu Applications dropdown menu icon (located in the upper-left) then select Alphabetical. If still unavailable, refer to Manage App Icons.
  3. From the WIRELESS & NETWORKS section, tap Data usage.
  4. Tap Alert me about data usage to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  5. Tap OK.
  6. Touch and hold the green dot located to the right of the warning line.
  7. Drag the Warning line to the desired level (e.g., 1.0 GB) then release.

Set Mobile Data Limit

Caution Mobile data (cellular data) is disabled upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the red limit line. To continue to utilize apps dependent upon a data connection (e.g., browser, email, apps, etc.), a Wi-Fi connection can be used or Mobile data must be manually re-enabled (overage charges may apply).

  1. From a Home screen, tap the Apps icon Apps icon (located at the bottom).
  2. Tap Settings.
    Note If unavailable, tap the Dropdown menu Applications dropdown menu icon (located in the upper-left) then select Alphabetical. If still unavailable, refer to Manage App Icons.
  3. From the WIRELESS & NETWORKS section, tap Data usage.
  4. Tap Limit mobile data usage to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  5. Tap OK.
  6. Touch and hold the red dot located to the right of the limit line.
  7. Drag the Limit line to the desired level (e.g., 4.6 GB) then release.

View Data Usage by App

  1. From a Home screen, tap the Apps icon Apps icon (located at the bottom).
  2. Tap Settings.
    Note If unavailable, tap the Dropdown menu Applications dropdown menu icon (located in the upper-left) then select Alphabetical. If still unavailable, refer to Manage App Icons.
  3. From the WIRELESS & NETWORKS section, tap Data usage.
  4. Tap an app (located below the usage graph).
  5. View the usage info.
