Move Music Files to Device - Samsung Galaxy S® 6 / S® 6 edge

This helps you move or transfer music between your device and a computer/PC.

caution Only DRM free or unprotected music can be transferred via this method.

Note Notes:

 

  1. Connect the device to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
    1. If prompted to allow access to your data, tap ALLOW.
    2. Touch and hold the Status bar (located at the top) then drag to the bottom.

    3. From the Android System icon Android System section, ensure File Transfer is selected.
      Note If necessary, select the current option (e.g., Charging, Photo Transfer, etc.) then tap File Transfer.
  2. Launch File Explorer or Windows Explorer on the computer.
    Note Using the computer keyboard, press Windows+E ( windows key logo+E) keys.
    Note Alternatively, right-click Start then click Open File Explorer or Windows Explorer.
  3. Using Explorer, navigate to then copy the desired music files.
    Note The default location for pictures or videos can be accessed by navigating: Libraries > Music or by clicking Music from "This PC" section.
  4. Using Explorer, access the device folders by navigating: SAMSUNG-SM-G920V (Standard model) or SM-G925V (Edge model) > Phone  > Music.
    Note SAMSUNG-SM-G925V or SM-G920V is listed under the "Portable Devices" or "This PC" section.
  5. Use the computer to move the files into the preferred device folder.
    Note For any accompanying artwork in JPEG format, rename the art file album.jpg and copy into the same folder as the music files.
  6. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
