View Device Screen on TV - HTC One M9

Note Notes:

  • To share media files, an active Wi-Fi connection must be established. Refer to the following for assistance:
  • To play or copy media to / from other devices (e.g., computer, TV, etc.), they must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network and may need to be configured for sharing. Refer to the user manual or contact the equipment manufacturer for assistance.
  • For assistance with setting up a Google® Chromecast™ device, refer to this page.
  • Some apps (e.g., YouTube™, Netflix®, etc.) support displaying the app contents on a remote display. Within the app, tap the Cast icon Cast icon then select the desired display from the list.

Media Share

 

  • HTC Connect™ provides media sharing with supported devices and accessories including:
    • Blackfire™ compliant multi-room speakers
    • Multi-room speakers that support the Qualcomm® AllPlay™ platform
    • DLNA compatible speakers and TV
    • Miracast display devices
    • Bluetooth® speakers
    • HTC certified consumer electronic devices or accessories that have the HTC Connect logo

  1. Before starting, make sure you have set up speakers, TV or appliance to connect to a Wi-Fi network.
    Note Refer to the applicable device's documentation for set up instructions.
    Note The HTC One M9 automatically connects to Wi-Fi; however, a network can be added if needed.
  2. Open and play music or media content you want to share from the HTC One M9.
  3. Swipe up on the screen with 3 fingers to start a media sharing session.
    Note To stop a media sharing session, swipe down on the screen with 3 fingers.

  4. From the "Choose where to play media prompt", tap the device to connect to.
  5. Once connected, use your phone to control volume, pause or resume playback, etc.

Play / Copy Media (DLNA) 

  1. From a Home screen, tap the Apps icon Apps icon (located at the bottom).
  2. Tap Gallery or Music.
    Note If unavailable, tap the Dropdown menu Dropdown menu icon (located in the upper-left) then select Alphabetical. If still unavailable, refer to Manage App Icons.
  3. Select the preferred media.
  4. Tap the Player icon Player icon (located at the top).
    Note If necessary, tap the screen to display the options.
  5. Select a device on the network to play media.
    Note Use on-screen controls to adjust playback and volume.
