Move Pictures / Videos from Device - Samsung Galaxy S®6 / S 6 edge

This helps when you want to transfer or move your picture/video files between your device and a computer/PC.

caution Only DRM free or unprotected video can be transferred via this method. DRM, or Digital Rights Management, is a security method that protects copyrighted data on the internet and may prevent the data from being moved or shared.

Note Notes:

 

  1. Connect the device to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
    1. If prompted to allow access to your data, tap ALLOW.
    2. Touch and hold the Status bar (located at the top) then drag to the bottom.

    3. From the Android System icon Android System section, ensure File Transfer is selected.
      Note If necessary, select the current option (e.g., Charging, Photo Transfer, etc.) then tap File Transfer.
  2. Launch File Explorer or Windows Explorer on the computer.
    Note Using the computer keyboard, press the Windows+E (windows key logo+E) keys.
    Note Alternatively, right-click Start then click Open Windows Explorer or File Explorer.
  3. Using Explorer, navigate: SAMSUNG-SM-G925V or SAMSUNG-SM-G920V > Phone.
    Note SAMSUNG-SM-G925V or SM-G920V is listed under the "Portable Devices" or "This PC" section.
  4. Utilize the computer to copy video or picture files from the following folders into the desired folder(s) on the computer's hard drive:
    • DCIM
    • Download
    • Movies
    • Pictures
  5. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
