Samsung Galaxy S® 6 / S® 6 edge - Access Wi-Fi Direct

If you need to perform a task that requires connectivity between two Wi-Fi capable devices (e.g., printing files from your device), view this info on Wi-Fi Direct.

Note Notes:

  • Wi-Fi Direct allows the transfer of data between capable devices without the need of a wireless router or cables.
  • When Wi-Fi is turned on, Wi-Fi Direct is automatically enabled.


  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings > Wi-Fi (Wireless and networks section).
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Ensure that the Wi-Fi switch (upper-right) is turned on Switch on.
  3. To access Wi-Fi Direct settings and to view Peer devices, tap Wi-Fi Direct (upper-right).
    Note Wi-Fi Direct is auto-enabled when Wi-Fi is on and cannot be turned off.
