Allow SMS
This rule specifies whether users can send SMS text messages. This will allow VZ Navigator messaging feature to function.
Home Page Address
This rule specifies the BlackBerry® Browser home page. The download page may not be available. The download page URL is: http://mobile.vzwapp.com

Security Policy

Disallow Third-Party App Downloads
This rule specifies whether apps are permitted to be download to the device.
Allow Third-Party Apps to Use Persistent Store
This rule specifies whether third-party apps can use the persistent store API on the BlackBerry® device.
Allow Internal Connections IT policy rule
This rule specifies whether apps, including third-party apps, can initiate internal connections.
Allow External Connections IT policy rule
This rule specifies whether apps, including third-party apps, can initiate external connections.
Allow Resetting of Idle Timer
Specify whether the BlackBerry device allows third-party apps to reset the idle timer on the BlackBerry device, bypassing the security timeout.

Global Items

Allow Phone
Specify whether the phone functionality on the BlackBerry device is available to the user.
Allow Browser
This rule specifies whether the browser is available on the BlackBerry device.

 

App Control Policy

Internal Network Connections
Specify whether or not the app can make internal network connections. You can use this rule to permit or prevent the app from sending or receiving any data on the BlackBerry device using an internal protocol (for example, using corporate MDS, or to require the user to respond to a prompt on the BlackBerry device to permit internal connections through the BlackBerry device firewall.
External Network Connections
Specify whether or not the app can make external network connections. You can use this rule to permit or prevent the application from sending or receiving any data on the BlackBerry device using an external protocol (for example, using a WAP gateway, public MDS, or TCP), or to require the user to respond to a prompt on the BlackBerry device to permit external connections through the BlackBerry device firewall.
Interprocess Communication
Specify whether or not the app can perform interprocess communication operations. You can use this rule to prevent two or more apps to share data and for one app to use the connection permissions of another app.
Event Injection
Specify whether or not the app can simulate user input events, such as pressing keys and performing trackwheel actions, on the BlackBerry device.
Device GPS
Specify whether or not the app can access the BlackBerry device Global Positioning System (GPS) APIs. You can use this rule to permit or prevent the app from accessing the GPS APIs on the BlackBerry device or to require the user to respond to a prompt on the BlackBerry device to permit access to the GPS APIs.
Phone Access
Specify whether or not the app can make phone calls and access phone logs on the BlackBerry device. You can use this rule to permit or prevent the app from making any calls on the BlackBerry device or to require the user to respond to a prompt on the BlackBerry device to permit the app to make a phone call.
PIM Data Access
Specify whether or not the app can access the BlackBerry device PIM APIs, which control access to the personal information of the user on the BlackBerry device, including the address book.

 

Location Based Policy

Disable BlackBerry Maps
This rule specifies whether the BlackBerry Maps feature is turned on. This has no effect on VZ Navigator.
