Export Contact / Address Book Info to Comma Separated Values (*.csv) Files - Microsoft® Windows Mail / Microsoft Outlook

Note A comma separated values (.csv) file is a text file that contains rows of data that are separated by commas.

  1. Open Microsoft® Windows Mail then click File > Export > Windows Contacts.
  2. In the Address Book Export Tool dialog box, click CSV (Comma Seperated Values).
  3. In the Save exported file as: field, enter a file name for the exported Address Book file then click Browse.
  4. In the Save in: field, specify a location in which to save the file.
  5. In the Save as type: field, select Comma Separated Values (*.csv) then click Save.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Ensure the desired exports fields are selected then click Finish.
  8. When prompted, click OK to confirm the export procedure has completed.
  9. Click Close to exit the Address Book Export Tool dialog box.





  1. Open Microsoft® Outlook, then click File > Open & Export > Import / Export.
  2. Select Export to a file then click Next.
  3. Select Comma Separated Values (Windows) then click Next.
  4. In the folder list, select the Contacts folder then click Next.
  5. Browse to the target folder to save .csv file.
  6. Enter a name for the exported file then click OK.
  7. Click Next > Finish.
