Verizon Smart Family™ - Apple® iOS - Download and Install the Companion App

Note Notes:

  • The Companion app requires iOS 10.x (or higher).
  • To perform the steps below, you need to:
    • have access to both the parent and child devices.
    • ensure the Smart Family app is installed on the parent device.
    • sign in to the app using a My Verizon user ID or mobile number that has Account Owner or Manager access privileges.
    • ensure content filtering is added to the child account.
    • be signed in to App store to download the app.

  1. From the appropriate child device, locate the Verizon Smart Family text message then tap the accompanying link.
    Note If necessary, you can re-send the text using the parent device as follows:
    1. Open the Smart Family app.
    2. Select the appropriate family member from the top row of contacts (multiple may appear).
    3. From the Manage controls sections, tap Content filters.
    4. Tap Resend (at the bottom).
  2. From the Pair with Verizon Smart Family screen, tap Show me how or Pair now.
  3. From the Pair phone screen, tap Show me how or Pair now.
  4. If presented with the tutorial screen, tap Got it.
  5. From the Install Profile screen, tap Install (upper-right).
    Note If prompted, enter your passcode.
  6. From the Warning screen, review the info then tap Install to continue.
    Note If prompted, tap Trust.
    Note Allow time for the install and pairing process to complete.
  7. Tap Done (upper-right).
