Manage Data Usage - Samsung Galaxy J1™

Note Notes:

  • Data usage info provided by the device may differ from actual usage. For data usage info provided by Verizon, call #DATA (#3282) from the device or refer to the My Verizon website.

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps Applications icon (lower-right).
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Data usage then do any of the following:
    • Change Data Usage Cycle:
      1. From the Data usage cycle field, tap the Dropdown menu Drop down menu icon.
      2. Tap Change cycle.
      3. Select the appropriate date then tap Set.
        Note Refer to the My Verizon website for billing cycle date.
    • Set Mobile Data warning:
      Note A notification message appears upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the gray warning line.
      1. Tap Alert me about data usage to turn on Checkmark On.
        Note If prompted, review the 'Data usage alert' message then tap OK.
      2. Tap the number to the left of the black line.
      3. Enter the desired level (e.g., 2.0 GB, etc.) then tap Set.
    • Set Mobile Data Limit:
      Caution Mobile / Cellular data is disabled upon reaching the specified data limit. To continue to use apps that require a data connection (e.g., Browser, Email, etc.), Wi-Fi can be used or the mobile data limit must be manually adjusted (overage charges may apply).
      1. Tap Limit mobile data usage to turn on Checkmark On.
        Note If prompted, review the 'Limiting data usage' message then tap OK.
      2. Tap the number to the left of the orange line.
      3. Enter the desired level (e.g., 2.0 GB, etc.) then tap Set.
