Manually Add a Wi-Fi Network - Windows 8

  1. From the right edge of the screen, swipe left to display the charms menu.
    Note If using a mouse, move the pointer to the upper or lower-right corner of the Start screen then move up/down.
    Note Alternatively, press the Windows+C keys ( windows key logo+C) located on the physical keyboard (if available).

  2. Tap or click Search.
  3. Enter network and sharing into the search field.
  4. From the search results (located below the search field), tap or click Network and Sharing Center.
  5. Tap or click Set up a new connection or network.
  6. Select Manually connect to a wireless network then tap or click Next (located in the lower-right).
  7. Enter or configure the following info then tap or click Next:
    • Network name
    • Security type
    • Encryption type
    • Security key
    • Start this connection automatically
      Note Selected when a check mark is present.
    • Connect even if the network is not broadcasting
      Note Selected when a check mark is present.
      Note Selecting this option might risk your computer's privacy.
  8. Tap or click Close.
