Verizon Connection Manager - Network Mode Settings

Note Notes:

  • If the Verizon Connection Manager app has been uninstalled, you can reinstall via the Windows Store.
  • The HP Spectre and Microsoft Surface 3 are not CDMA compatible.

 

  1. Open the Verizon Connection Manager app.
    • Windows 10: Navigate: All apps icon All apps icon > Verizon Connection Manager.
      Note Utilize the touchscreen (if available) or mouse to select the on-screen options.
    • Windows 8: From the Start screen, select the down arrow icon Down arrow icon (located in the lower-left) then select Verizon Connection Manager.

  2. Select Network Settings.
    Note If not available, select the Dropdown menu located at the top then select Network Settings.

  3. From the Network Mode section, select the Network Type dropdown menu.
    Note If not available (grayed out), ensure that you are disconnected from the Internet.

  4. Select the appropriate setting:
    Global
    This setting attempts to connect to the last network technology used. If that technology is not available, the device attempts to connect using the alternate technology.
    LTE
    Long Term Evolution network - This is the 4G setting for use on the Verizon Wireless network.
    GSM/UMTS
    Global System for Mobile Communications - Typically used when traveling overseas.
    Universal Mobile Telecommunications System - This is a 3G setting used when traveling overseas.
