Quiet Hours - Nokia Lumia 928

Note Notes:

  • Quiet hours is a feature that turns off all notifications and allows Cortana to handle calls and texts.
  • To use quiet hours:
    • Cortana must be turned on
    • Battery level must be at least 20% charged
    • Driving Mode can't be on


  1. Swipe the screen left to display the Apps list.
    Note Alternatively, tap the Right arrow Right Arrow icon (located in the lower-right, may require scrolling).
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap quiet hours.
  4. Tap the Right now switch Switch On icon to manually turn on quiet hours.
  5. To set specific times for quiet hours to run, tap the Automatic rules switch Switch On icon to turn on then set up the following:
    • Turn on during these times
      Note Select desired options for quiet hours to run
    • Turn on when I have a calendar event marked Busy
      Note Select which calendar to use for quiet hours rules
  6. To allow certain contacts to bypass quiet hours, set up the Breakthrough rules section.
  7. Tap edit inner circle to select which contacts can always reach you even with quiet hours turned on.
    Note Tap add Add icon to select contacts to add to your inner circle.
  8. Select options for allowing Calls through while quiet hours is turned on:
    • Anyone breaks through if they call 2 times in 3 minutes
    • Inner circle breaks through
  9. Select options for allowing texts through while quiet hours is turned on:
    • Inner circle breaks through
    • Ask inner circle: Break through?
    • No one can break through
  10. Tap (check) 'Send a text to contacts who aren't allowed through saying that I'm busy right now.'
