Add a Virtual Private Network - HTC Desire® 626

A virtual private network (VPN) encrypts your internet traffic and protects your online identity via a secured remote server and is most commonly used when remotely accessing company systems (e.g., company email, intranet sites, etc.).

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > More.
  2. Tap VPN.
  3. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right).
  4. Tap Add VPN profile.
  5. If presented with a lock screen notification, tap OK.
    Note Refer to Set Up Screen Lock for assistance.
  6. From the Name field, enter the appropriate name.
    Note Contact the VPN administrator for assistance with server info and credentials.
  7. If needed, tap PPP encryption (MPPE) to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  8. Tap the Type field then select one of the following from the dropdown menu:
    • PPTP
    • L2TP/IPSec PSK
    • L2TP/IPSec RSA
    • IPSec Xauth PSK
    • IPSec Xauth RSA
    • IPSec Hybrid RSA
  9. Enter the appropriate info into the applicable fields then tap SAVE.
    Note If applicable, tap Show advanced options to configure the following:
    Note The available options vary depending upon the selected VPN type.
    • DNS search domains
    • DNS servers
    • Forwarding routes
