Set Up Screen Lock - Samsung Galaxy S6 edge +

Note Notes:

  • If using Microsoft® Exchange / Corporate sync, some screen lock options may be unavailable.
  • These steps can also be utilized to change your current screen lock setting.

 

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps Apps icon (located in the lower right).
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap Settings Settings icon.
  3. Tap Lock screen and security.
  4. Tap Screen lock type.
    Note If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  5. Tap one of the following:

 

Pattern

Note An unlock pattern is created then utilized to unlock the device.

  1. Draw an unlock pattern (connecting at least 4 dots) then tap Continue.
  2. Re-draw the pattern then tap Confirm.
  3. Set a backup PIN.

PIN

Note A PIN is created then utilized to unlock the device.

  1. Enter a numeric PIN (4 -16 digits) then tap Continue.
  2. Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap OK.

Password

Note A password is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Enter a password (4 -16 characters) then tap Continue.
  2. Re-enter the password then tap OK.

Fingerprints

Note Notes:

  • A fingerprint is utilized to unlock the device. For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and free of moisture, dirt, oil, lotion, dyes, etc.
  • Refer to Fingerprint for additional Fingerprint options.
  1. When prompted, use the Home button to record your fingerprint.
    Note Place your finger on the button, lift off, and repeat as directed.
    Note Slightly move the position of your finger on each attempt.
    Note You may be asked to adjust your grip during the process.
  2. Tap Notifications.
  3. Tap Content on lock screen then tap one of the following:
    • Show content
    • Hide content
    • Do not show notifications
