Samsung Galaxy Note5 - Configure Broadcast Settings - Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot

If you are experiencing connectivity issues with your Mobile Hotspot or your device isn't found, check out the steps below.

Note To avoid interference with other Wi-Fi networks, try using non-overlapping channels (i.e., 1, 6, or 11).

  1. From a Home screen tap Apps Apps icon.
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. From the Wireless and networks section, tap Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.
  4. Tap the MORE (upper-right).
  5. Tap Configure Hotspot.
  6. Configure the following then tap Save.
  7. Tap Show advanced options
    Note Enabled when a checkmark is present.
    • When Advanced options are enabled, configure the following:
      1. Tap the appropriate Broadcast channel: 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz.
        Note Enabled when a checkmark is present.
      2. Tap the 'Channel' Dropdown menu Drop down menu icon then select the appropriate channel (e.g., Auto, 1 - 11).
        Note Auto (default setting) is recommended.
