Google Pay® - Initial Setup - Add a Payment Card

Note Google Pay:

  • is a secure wallet solution that stores credit cards, debit cards, loyalty cards, gift cards and more.
  • allows you to use your smartphone for shopping in-store and online.

  1. Navigate to the Google Play™ Store Play store icon then download and install Google Pay.

  2. From the app, tap Get started.
    Note If needed, tap the Dropdown icon Dropdown menu icon then select the appropriate Google account.

  3. From the app, tap Add a card.

  4. Line up the payment card in the photo viewer then take a picture.
    Note Alternatively, tap Add Manually then enter the required info (e.g., card number, expiration date, etc.).
  5. Enter the 3-digit security (CVC) number on the back of the card.
  6. Enter the street address.
  7. Confirm the card details then tap Continue.
  8. To continue, review the Terms of Service then tap Accept.

  9. If no screen lock is currently set up on the device:
    Note A secure screen lock (e.g., pattern, PIN, etc.) is required to use Google Pay.
    Note If the screen lock is ever disabled, you're prompted to reset it or all cards are removed.
    1. Tap Activate.
    2. Select the preferred screen lock type then follow the on-screen instructions for setup.
  10. The card is now visible in Google Pay.
    Note If presented, enter then re-enter a 4-digit Payments PIN.
