Set Up Screen Lock - Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (2015)

Note Notes:

  • If using Microsoft® Exchange / Corporate sync, some screen lock options (e.g., Pattern, PIN) may be unavailable.
  • These steps can also be utilized to change your current screen lock setting.
  • A pattern, PIN or password must be set up to turn on factory reset protection.
    Note Changing screen lock to "None" or "Swipe" turns off this feature.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings > Lock screen and security.
  2. Tap Screen lock type.
    Note If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
    Note If prompted to add a GoogleTM account:
  3. Tap one of the following:

Swipe

Swipe screen to unlock the device.

Pattern

Note An unlock pattern is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Draw an unlock pattern (connecting at least 4 dots) then tap Continue.
  2. Draw the same pattern again then tap Confirm.
  3. From the Set backup PIN prompt, enter a numeric PIN (4 to 16 digits) then tap Done.
  4. From the Confirm PIN prompt, re-enter the numeric PIN then tap OK.

PIN

Note A PIN is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Enter a numeric PIN (4 to 16 digits) then tap Done.
  2. From the Confirm PIN prompt, re-enter the numeric PIN then tap OK.

Password

Note A password is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Enter a password (4 to 16 characters) then tap Continue.
  2. From the Confirm password prompt, re-enter the password then tap OK.

Fingerprints

Note Notes:

  • A fingerprint is utilized to unlock the device.
  • For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and free of moisture, dirt, oil, lotion, dyes, etc.
  • A maximum of three fingerprints can be saved on the device.

  1. If presented, read the Disclaimer then tap Confirm.
  2. Using on-screen prompts as a guide, place finger on the Home button (oval button located below the display) and lift multiple times until complete.
  3. From the Create password prompt, enter a password (at least 6 characters, including 1 letter and 1 number) to use as an alternative to your fingerprint then tap Continue.
  4. From the Confirm password prompt, re-enter the password then tap OK.
