LG V10™ - Manage Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings

To configure Manage Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings (e.g., password, allowed devices, etc.), view this info.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > More.
  2. Tap Mobile Hotspot.
  3. Select an option:

Set up Mobile Hotspot

  1. Tap Set up Mobile Hotspot.
  2. From the Set up Mobile Hotspot screen, configure the following as needed:
    • Wi-Fi name (SSID)
    • Hide my phone
      Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • Security
      • Open
      • WPA2 PSK
    • Password
      Note Password can be changed.
    • Show password
      Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • Max users (i.e. 1-10)
      Note Number of users that can be connected at the same time.
    • If needed, tap Show advanced options.
      Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • When Advanced options are enabled, configure the following:
      1. Tap the appropriate Broadcast channel options:
        • 2.4 GHz Band
        • 5 GHz Band
      2. Tap the channel Dropdown menu Dropdown icon then select the appropriate channel (i.e. Auto-select, 1 - 11).
      3. Tap the 802.11 Mode Dropdown menu Dropdown icon then select an option (e.g., b only, g only, b/g/n).
  3. Tap SAVE.

Manage connections

  1. Tap Manage connections.
    Note Restricts which devices are allowed to connect.
  2. Tap Allow all devices to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    Note To add a device:
    1. Tap Add to allowed devices.
      Note You can add up to 15 allowed devices.
    2. Select an option:
    • Enter the MAC address of the device
      • Enter the name and MAC address then tap Save.
    • Choose from connected devices
      • Choose a device from the list then tap Done.

Timeout

  1. Tap Timeout.
    Note Sets how long before the hotspot will turn off after no activity.
  2. Select an option:
    • 5 min
    • 10 min
    • 20 min
    • 30min
    • 60 min
    • Never turns off
