Manage Data Usage - Samsung Galaxy Tab™ 10.1

To change the data usage cycle on your device, view data usage and set data warnings and restrictions, view this info.

Note Data usage info provided by the device may differ from actual usage. For data usage info, refer to the My Verizon website.

Enable/Disable Mobile Data

  1. From a Home screen, tap the Apps icon Apps icon (located in the upper-right).
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings.
  3. Tap Data usage (Wireless and network section).
  4. Tap the Mobile data switch to turn on On switch indicator or off Off switch indicator.

Change Data Usage Cycle

  1. From a Home screen, tap the Apps icon Apps icon (located in the upper-right).
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings.
  3. Tap Data usage (Wireless and network section).
  4. From the Data usage cycle field, select the current cycle setting then tap Change cycle.
  5. Select the appropriate day then tap Set.
    Note Refer to the My Verizon website for billing cycle date.

Set Mobile Data Limit

Note Mobile data (cellular data) is disabled upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the red limit line. To continue to utilize apps dependent upon a data connection (e.g., Browser, Email, Google Play, etc.), a Wi-Fi connection can be used or Mobile data must be manually re-enabled (overage charges may apply).

  1. From a Home screen, tap the Apps icon Apps icon (located in the upper-right).
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings.
  3. Tap Data usage (Wireless and network section).
  4. Tap Limit mobile data usage to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  5. If presented with Limiting data usage message, tap OK.
  6. Touch and hold the red dot located to the right of the limit line, then drag the Limit line to the desired level (e.g., 4.6GB) and release.

Set Mobile Data Warning

Note A notification message appears upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the orange warning line.

  1. From a Home screen, tap the Apps icon Apps icon (located in the upper-right).
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings.
  3. Tap Data usage (Wireless and network section).
  4. Tap Alert me about data usage to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  5. If presented with Data usage alert message, tap OK.
  6. Touch and hold the orange dot located to the right of the warning line then drag the Warning line to the desired level (e.g., 3.8GB) and release.

View Data Usage by App

  1. From a Home screen, tap the Apps icon Apps icon (located in the upper-right).
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings.
  3. Tap Data usage (Wireless and network section).
  4. Tap an app (located below the usage graph).
  5. View the usage info.
