Auto Switch Between Wi-Fi & Mobile Data Networks - HTC One®

To automatically switch from a weak or unstable Wi-Fi network to the Verizon Wireless cellular network to preserve a consistent data connection, view this info.

Note Notes:

  • When enabled, this advanced setting allows the device to switch from a weak or unstable Wi-Fi network to the Verizon Wireless cellular network to preserve consistent data throughput.
  • This function is not enabled by default; the device prompts the user to enable the feature the first time they experience poor Wi-Fi connectivity Wifi weak.

Caution When connected to the Verizon Wireless cellular network, data overage charges may apply (depending upon data plan). For data usage information, refer to the My Verizon website.

Enable or Disable the Auto Network Switch Setting

Prompted to Switch Networks

  1. Slide down the Notification Bar then tap the Your Internet connection is unstable notification.
  2. If presented with the "The Internet connection via this Wi-Fi network is unstable" pop-up, tap OK.
    Note When the Wi-Fi connection is unstable, selecting OK activates this feature and the device automatically switches to the mobile network.
    Note If preferred, tap Do not show again before tapping OK to prevent the unstable Wi-Fi connection prompt.

Enable or Disable the Auto Network Switch Setting

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings.
    Note If unavailable, tap the Apps dropdown menu Apps dropdown menu icon (located in the upper-left) then tap Alphabetical. If still unavailable, refer to Manage App Icons.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi.
  3. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (located in the upper-right).
  4. Tap Advanced.
  5. Tap Auto switch to mobile network to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  6. Tap YES.
