Samsung Galaxy Tab E (8.0) - Configure Broadcast Settings - Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot

If you are experiencing connectivity issues with your Mobile Hotspot or your device isn't found, check out the steps below.

Note Here's how to check what software version your device is running.

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    Note These instructions only apply to the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Connections > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.
    Note For software version 7.1.1 or earlier, navigate: Settings > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.
  3. Tap Mobile Hotspot.
  4. Tap the Menu icon Menu (upper-right)
  5. Tap Configure Mobile Hotspot.
  6. Tap (check) Show advanced options.
  7. From the Broadcast channel section, select 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz.
    Note Selected when a blue dot is present.
  8. Tap the Dropdown menu icon Drop down menu icon then select a channel (e.g., Auto, 1, 2, 3, 11, etc.).
  9. Tap SAVE (lower-right).
