Samsung Galaxy Tab E (8.0) - Enable / Disable App

Some apps that come pre-installed (e.g., calculator, Google Play™ Store, Verizon Cloud, Call Filter, etc.) on your Android™ device can't be uninstalled; however, they can be disabled (turned off) so they don't appear in the list of apps on your device.

Note The option to enable or disable an app may only be available for apps that can't be uninstalled.

Enable App

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    Note These instructions only apply to the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Apps.
    Note For software version 7.1.1 or earlier, tap App manager (upper-right).
  3. Locate then tap the app name (e.g., Cloud).
    Note If system apps aren't visible, tap the Menu icon Menu (upper-right) > Show system apps.
  4. Tap ENABLE.

Disable App

Caution Disabling an app may cause related apps to function improperly.

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    Note These instructions only apply to the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Apps.
    Note For software version 7.1.1 or earlier, tap App manager (upper-right).
  3. Locate then tap the app name (e.g., Cloud).
    Note If system apps aren't visible, tap the Menu icon Menu (upper-right) > Show system apps.
  4. Tap FORCE STOP.
  5. To confirm, tap FORCE STOP.
  6. Tap DISABLE.
  7. To confirm, tap DISABLE.
