Samsung Galaxy Tab E (8.0) - Clear App Cache

If your device runs slow, crashes or resets, or apps freeze when running them, clearing the cached data may help.

Note Here's how to check what software version your device is running.

Clear Individual App Cache

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    Note These instructions only apply to the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Apps.
    Note For software version 7.1.1 or earlier, navigate: Settings > Apps > App manager.
  3. Locate then select the appropriate app.
    Note If system apps aren't visible, tap the Menu icon Menu (upper-right) > Show system apps.
  4. Tap Storage.
  5. Tap CLEAR CACHE.
    Note This option may not be available for some apps.

Clear All Cached Data

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    Note These instructions only apply to the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate: Settings Settings icon > Device maintenance > Storage.
    Note For software version 7.1.1 or earlier, navigate: Settings > Storage.
  3. If applicable, tap Internal storage.
  4. Tap Clean now.
  5. To confirm, tap CLEAR.
