PRIV™ by BlackBerry® - Change Device Password

Note If using Microsoft® Exchange / Corporate sync, some screen lock options may be unavailable.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > Security Security icon.
  2. Tap Screen lock.
    Note If prompted to add a Google account: Note If presented, enter the current PIN/password/pattern.
  3. Tap one of the following:

Pattern

Note An unlock pattern is created to access the device.

  1. Draw an unlock pattern (connecting at least 4 dots) then tap Continue.
  2. Draw the same pattern again then tap Confirm.
  3. If presented, select an option then tap Done (located in the lower-right).
    • Show all notification content
    • Hide sensitive notification content
    • Don't show notifications at all

Top

Picture

Note A number is positioned over a picture to access the device.

  1. If presented with the "Picture policy" screen, tap OK.
  2. From Choose picture, tap the appropriate picture.
    Note Alternatively, tap Picture library (located at the bottom) to select other images.
  3. From Choose number, tap the desired number.
  4. From Choose location, touch and drag the number grid to reposition the number to the appropriate location then tap Continue.
  5. From Summary, tap OK to confirm the positioning.
  6. From Confirm, touch and drag the number grid to position the number from step 4 to the position in step 5 then tap Done.

PIN

Note A PIN number is created to access the device.

  1. If presented with the "PIN policy" screen, tap OK.
  2. Enter a numeric PIN (4 to 16 digits) then tap Continue.
  3. Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap OK.
  4. If presented, select an option then tap Done (located in the lower-right).
    • Show all notification content
    • Hide sensitive notification content
    • Don't show notifications at all

Top

Password

Note A password is created to access the device.

  1. If presented with the "Password policy" screen, tap OK.
  2. Enter a password (4 to 16 characters) then tap Continue.
  3. Re-enter the password then tap OK.
  4. If presented, select an option then tap Done (located in the lower-right).
    • Show all notification content
    • Hide sensitive notification content
    • Don't show notifications at all
