PRIV™ by BlackBerry® - Activate / Set Up Device

If you need to transfer contacts and media from one device to another, follow these step-by-step instructions before activating the new device.

Caution To avoid potential issues, review the following:

  1. From the Welcome screen, select the appropriate language then tap the Next icon Next icon.
    Note Allow several seconds for activation to complete.
  2. From the Phone Activation screen, tap Next or tap Activate Now (if available).
    Note If prompted, enter the last 4 digits of the Account Owner's Social Security Number or the Billing Password.
    Note If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off and allow several minutes for the deactivation of the old phone to complete.
  3. If presented with the "Activating cellular service" screen, tap Next (located in the lower-right).
  4. If presented with the "Select Wi-Fi network" screen, tap Skip > Skip anyway.
  5. From the Tap & Go screen, tap Skip.
  6. From the name screen, enter your first and last name (if preferred) then tap Next.
  7. From the "Add your account" (Google) screen, tap Skip > Skip.
  8. From the "Protect your phone" screen, tap Skip > Skip anyway.
  9. If presented with the Google services screen, tap any of the following services to enable or disable then tap Next.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • Use Google's location service
    • Help improve location services
    • Help improve your Android experience
  10. If presented with the "Agreement" screen, tap I Agree then tap Next to continue setup.
    Note To review the Blackberry solution license agreement, tap View full BlackBerry Solution License Agreement (above "I do not agree"), then tap Ok to return to the "Agreement" screen.
  11. If presented with the "Agreement" screen, tap Ok to continue setup.
  12. If presented with the "BlackBerry insider" screen, tap Skip.
  13. If presented with the "Diagnostics" screen, select the appropriate option then tap Next.
  14. From the Verizon Cloud screen, tap Skip then tap Not Now.
  15. From the "Learn as you go" screen, review the Summary then tap Finish.
