LG G5 - Turn Automatic App Restore On / Off

Prior to completing a factory data reset, view this info to ensure apps and settings are backed up.

Note When attempting to determine whether a third-party app is the cause of an operating system or app issue, ensure Automatic Restore is disabled prior to a performing a factory data reset.

Auto-backup

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Settings Settings icon > System > Backup.
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap Backup & restore.
  3. If prompted, review the Terms of Use then tap Agree to continue.
  4. Tap Backup.
    Note If prompted to Auto-backup, tap an option (e.g., Later, Set Up, etc.).
  5. Select the items to be backed up.
    Note Selected when a check mark is present.
  6. Tap the Menu icon Tap the Menu (upper-right).
  7. Tap Auto-backup.
  8. Tap the Auto-Backup switch to turn it on On Switch Icon or off Off Switch Icon.
  9. Tap OK.

Restore

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Settings Settings icon > System > Backup.
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap Backup & restore.
  3. If prompted, review the Terms of Use then tap Agree to continue.
  4. Tap Restore.
  5. Tap a backup option (e.g., LGBackup_180906, Google Drive, etc.) then follow the on-screen prompts.
