Reset Network Settings - Samsung Galaxy S® 5

If you can't connect to the internet, send or receive email and/or messages (text, picture or video), resetting the network settings may help.

Note These steps only apply to devices running Android™ 6.x (Marshmallow). Follow these steps to determine your Android version.

  1. From the Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Backup and reset.
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap Reset network settings.
  3. Tap Reset Settings.
  4. If applicable, enter the PIN, password, fingerprint or pattern then tap Reset Settings again to confirm.
    Note A "Network settings reset" pop-up should briefly appear.
