HTC 10™ - View Device Screen on TV

Note Notes:

  • To share media files, an active Wi-Fi connection must be established. Refer to the following for assistance:
  • To play or copy media to / from other devices (e.g., computer, TV, etc.), they must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network and may need to be configured for sharing. Refer to the user manual or contact the equipment manufacturer for assistance.
  • For assistance with setting up a Google® Chromecast™ device, refer to this page.
  • A Wireless Display adapter can be purchased from any Verizon Wireless retail store or at the online store.

Here are a few ways to share your screen with a TV. A compatible TV or additional accessories may be required. Check with your TV manufacturer for additional support.

Share Your Screen

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings.
  2. In the Wireless & networks section, tap More More.
  3. Tap HTC Connect.
  4. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right).
  5. Tap Scan Option then tap the device you want to connect.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    Note A list of compatible devices displays.
  6. Tap Done.
  7. Tap a wireless display to begin.

  • HTC Connect™ provides media sharing with supported devices and accessories including:
    • Blackfire™ compliant multi-room speakers
    • Multi-room speakers that support the Qualcomm® AllPlay™ platform

  1. Before starting, make sure you have set up speakers, TV or appliance to connect to a Wi-Fi network.
    Note Refer to the applicable device's documentation for set up instructions.
    Note The HTC 10 automatically connects to Wi-Fi; however, a network can be added if needed.
  2. Open and play music or media content you want to share from the HTC 10.
  3. Swipe up on the screen with 3 fingers to start a media sharing session.
    Note To stop a media sharing session, swipe down on the screen with 3 fingers.

  4. From the 'Choose where to play media prompt', tap the device to connect to.
  5. Once connected, use your phone to control volume, pause or resume playback, etc.

Media Server Settings (DLNA)

Note To access DLNA settings, an active Wi-Fi connection must be established.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > More.
  2. Tap HTC connect.
  3. Tap Menu Menu icon (upper-right) then tap Scan Option.
  4. Tap any of the following to turn enable or disable syncing then tap Done:
    • Airplay
    • AllPlay speaker
    • Blackfire
    • Bluetooth speaker
    • Chromecast
    • Miracast
  5. Tap an available device.
  6. Tap Pair.
  7. Select any of the following then tap OK:
    • Photos
    • Videos
    • Music
  8. Tap Receive content to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
