Note Apps and processes are listed from highest to lowest percentage of power consumption. Review any high or unusual battery drain.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > Power (Device section).
  2. Review the current battery status.
    Note Percentage indicates the remaining battery life, charging status.
    Note Charging status is only displayed if device is connected to a charger.
    Charging over USB
    Charging at lower rate
    Charging on AC
    Charging at standard rate, preferred method
  3. Tap Battery usage.
    Note Displays percentage of battery usage for individual apps and system processes.
    Note Some apps have an option under ADJUST POWER USE that describes how to reduce the power consumption of the app. If available, tap this option to adjust the settings as needed.
  4. Tap History.
    Note The Battery history graph displays the time since it was last charged to 100%.
  5. View the history of battery usage.
    • Battery Usage line graph.
    • Color coded Mobile network signal bar graph.
      Note Signal strength has an effect on battery life.

      Very Good
      Gray
      Good
      Gold
      Moderate
      Yellow
      No Signal
      Red
      Scanning
      Black
      Radio Off
    • Color coded bar graphs for Wi-Fi, Awake, Screen on and Charging.
      Blue
      On
      Black
      Off
      • Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi radio is on/off.
      • Awake: Running tasks/apps, however the screen is not necessarily on.
      • Screen On: Indicates the screen is visible, not in standby.
      • Charging: Indicates when a device is plugged into a charger and charging.
        The charging line shows periods of partial charging (in green) since the last complete charge.
