Manage Data Usage - HTC 10™

To change the data usage cycle on your device, view data usage and set data warnings and limits, view this info.

Caution Data usage info provided by the device may differ from actual usage. For data usage info provided by Verizon Wireless, refer to the My Verizon website.

Set Mobile Data Limit

Caution Mobile data (cellular data) is disabled upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the red limit line. To continue to utilize apps dependant upon a data connection (e.g., Browser, Email, Market, etc.), a Wi-Fi connection can be used or Mobile data must be manually re-enabled (overage charges may apply).

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > Data usage (Wireless & networks section).
  2. From the Mobile section, tap Billing cycle.
  3. Tap the Set data limit switch to turn on Switch on.
    Note If prompted, review the message then tap OK.
  4. Tap Data limit.
  5. Enter the desired level (e.g., 2.0GB) then tap SET.

Set Mobile Data Warning

Note A notification message appears upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the orange warning line.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > Data usage (Wireless & networks section).
  2. From the Mobile section, tap Billing cycle.
  3. Tap the Set data warning switch to turn on Switch on.
  4. Tap Data warning.
  5. Enter the desired level (e.g., 2.0GB) then tap SET.

Change Data Usage Cycle

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > Data usage (Wireless & networks section).
  2. From the Mobile section, tap Billing cycle.
  3. Tap Billing cycle.
  4. Select the cycle date then tap SET.
    Note Refer to the My Verizon website for billing cycle date.

View Data Usage by App

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > Data usage (Wireless & networks section).
  2. From the Mobile section, tap Mobile data usage.
  3. Select an app (below the usage graph) to view the usage info.

Restrict Data Usage by App

Note Some apps depend upon background data (transferring data when not directly in use). Restricting background data may cause those apps to stop functioning unless a Wi-Fi connection is available.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > Data usage (Wireless & networks section).
  2. From the Mobile section, tap Mobile data usage.
  3. Select an app (below the usage graph).
  4. Tap Background data to turn off Switch off.
