Enable / Disable App - Samsung Galaxy Tab® 2 (10.1)

Some apps that come pre-installed (e.g., calculator, Google Play™ Store, Verizon Cloud, Call Filter, etc.) on your Android™ device can't be uninstalled; however, they can be disabled (turned off) so they don't appear in the list of apps on your device.

Note The option to enable or disable an app may only be available for apps that can't be uninstalled.

Enable App

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings > Application manager (Device section).
  2. From the ALL tab (located on the right), locate then tap the app name.
    Note If necessary, swipe left or right to switch tabs.
  3. Tap Enable.

Disable App

Caution Disabling an app may cause related apps to function improperly.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings > Application manager (Device section).
  2. From the ALL tab (located on the right), locate then tap the app name.
  3. Tap Force stop.
  4. Review the notification then tap OK to confirm.
  5. Tap Disable.
  6. Review the notification then tap OK to confirm.
