My Verizon app - Upgrade Device

Note Notes:

  • Ensure your app is up to date as the following steps apply to the most recent version.
  • The My Verizon app is only available for Android® devices running 4.0 or higher and Apple® iOS devices running 10.0 or higher. For all other devices, visit verizonwireless.com to sign in and manage your account.
  • Available settings vary based on user type (e.g., Account Owner, Account Manager, Account Member).

  1. From the Home screen tap the My Verizon app or navigate: Apps > My Verizon.
  2. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-left) then tap Shop.
  3. From the 'Smartphones' screen, tap on the desired phone.
    Note Details about the device display.
  4. Tap the Customize button.
  5. From the 'Get Started' screen, tap Let's go.
  6. From the 'Upgrade' screen, tap the line you want to upgrade.
  7. From the 'Trade-in' screen, select from the following:
    • Yes, trade in the device I’m upgrading.
    • Yes, trade in a different device that’s been active on my account.
    • No, I won’t be trading in a device.
  8. If trading in a device, tap to check everything that applies to the device:
    • I can turn on the device.
    • The screen works correctly and isn’t cracked.
    • The battery is free of physical damage (too hot to touch, swelling, rupture of casing).
    • Find my iPhone is turned off. (if applicable)
  9. Tap the Next button.
  10. Tap either Accept credit or No Thanks.
  11. From the 'Customize This Device' screen, make the applicable selections then tap Next.
  12. From the 'Purchase Options' screen, select the payment type then tap Next:
    • Monthly
    • Contract
    • Retail price
  13. From the 'Cart' screen, tap the Check out button.
  14. If needed, from the 'Complete Your Order' screen, update any of the following info:
    • Address
      Note A Secure PIN is required to change the Shipping Address. Review the following instructions:
      1. From the Delivery Information page, review the verification code pop-up then tap Continue.
      2. Tap one of the following options then tap Next and follow the prompts:
        • Text me
        • Email me
        • Text a different number
        • Shipping method
        • Payment method
  15. Tap to accept the Customer Agreement, the Trade-in Agreement (if applicable), and the Device Payment Agreement (if applicable).
  16. Tap Place order.
  17. Tap Done.
