HTC Desire® 530 - Move Music Files to Device

This helps you move or transfer music between your device and a computer/PC.

caution Only DRM free or unprotected music can be transferred via this method.

Note Notes:

  1. Connect the device to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
  2. If necessary, touch and hold the Status bar (area at the top of the phone screen with the time, signal strength, etc.) then drag to the bottom.

  3. Tap the USB icon USB icon then select File Transfers.
    Note Selected when a green dot is present.
  4. Tap one of the following:
    • Just Once
    • Always
  5. Launch File/Windows Explorer.
    Note Using the computer keyboard, press Windows+E ( windows key logo+E) keys.
    Note Alternatively, right-click Start then click Open Windows Explorer.
  6. Using Windows/File Explorer, navigate: HTCd160lvw > Internal Storage > Music.
    note HTCd160lvw is listed under the Portable Devices section.
  7. Use the computer to copy music and other audio files into the folder.
    note For any accompanying artwork in JPEG format, rename the art file albumart.jpg and copy into the same folder as the music files.
  8. To further organize files, create a subfolder in the newly created music folder and copy desired music files into it.
