HTC Desire® 530 - View Device Screen on TV

Note Notes:

  • To share media files, an active Wi-Fi connection must be established. Refer to the following for assistance:
  • To play or copy media to / from other devices (e.g., computer, TV, etc.), they must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network and may need to be configured for sharing. Refer to the user manual or contact the equipment manufacturer for assistance.
  • For help setting up a Google® Chromecast™ device, refer to this page.
  • Some apps (e.g., YouTube, Netflix, etc.) support displaying the app contents on a remote display. Within the app, tap the Cast icon Cast icon then select the desired display from the list.

Here are a few ways to share your screen with a TV. A compatible TV or additional accessories may be required. Check with your TV manufacturer for additional support.

  • HTC Connect™ provides media sharing with supported devices and accessories including:

  1. Before starting, make sure you have set up speakers, TV or appliance to connect to a Wi-Fi network.
    Note Refer to the applicable device's documentation for set up instructions.
    Note The HTC Desire 530 automatically connects to Wi-Fi; however, a network can be added if needed.
  2. Open and play music or media content you want to share from the HTC Desire 530.
  3. Swipe up on the screen with 3 fingers to start a media sharing session.
    Note To stop a media sharing session, swipe down on the screen with 3 fingers.

  4. From the 'Choose where to play media prompt', tap the device to connect to.
  5. Once connected, use your phone to control volume, pause or resume playback, etc.

Play / Copy Media (DLNA)

  1. From a Home screen, tap the Apps icon Applications icon (located at the bottom).
  2. Tap Gallery or Music.
    Note If unavailable, tap the Dropdown menu Apps dropdown menu icon (located in the upper-left) then tap Alphabetical.
  3. Tap Photos or Music then select the preferred media.
  4. Tap the Player icon Player icon (located at the top).
    Note If necessary, tap the screen to display the options.
  5. Select a device on the network to play media.
  6. Use on-screen controls to adjust playback and volume.

DLNA Settings

Note To access DLNA settings, an active Wi-Fi connection must be established.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > More.
  2. Tap HTC connect.
  3. Tap Menu Menu icon (located in the upper-right) then tap Scan Option.
  4. Tap any of the following to enable or disable syncing then tap Done:
    • Airplay
    • AllPlay speaker
    • Blackfire
    • Bluetooth speaker
  5. Tap an available device.
  6. Tap Pair.
  7. Select any of the following then tap OK.
    • Photos
    • Videos
    • Music
  8. Tap Receive content to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
