Verizon Cloud - Verify Contacts Are Duplicates

If you have duplicates in your contact list, view this info. For issues with your device, visit our Troubleshooting Assistant.

Note Sometimes, duplicate contacts occur due to the method of entry or based on your phone's backup settings.

  1. Verify that the duplicate isn't caused by having multiple entries for the same contact.
    Note If a contact has one listing for an email address and another for a phone number, the duplicates can be easily fixed by merging them.
  2. Ensure there are no special characters ($, #, %, *, etc.) in the contact listing.
    Note The Verizon Cloud app may not recognize special characters triggering it to create a duplicate each time a sync takes place.
  3. Check to see if you're backing up your phone info to multiple sources.
    Note If you're an iOS user and you have both Verizon Cloud and iCloud backing up your info, duplicates may result.
