Email Account Settings (Personal POP / IMAP) - Apple® iPhone®

Note Notes:

 

  1. From the Home screen, navigate: Settings Settings iconPasswords & Accounts.
    Note If unavailable, navigate: Settings > Accounts & Passwords.
  2. From the Accounts section, tap an email account.
  3. Tap the following switch(es) to turn on Switch On or off Switch Off:
    • Mail
    • Contacts
    • Calendars
    • Notes
  4. Tap Account (or the email address) then verify the info (e.g., Name, Email, etc).
  5. If available, verify the incoming mail server info (e.g., Host Name, Username, Password, etc.).
  6. Tap SMTP then tap the Primary SMTP Server.
  7. Tap the Server switch to turn the SMTP server on or off.
  8. Verify the outgoing mail server settings:
    • Host Name
    • User Name
    • Password
    • Use SSL
      Note Turned on when the switch is in the green position.
    • Authentication
    • Server Port
  9. Tap Done then tap Back icon Account (upper-left).
    Note If no changes made, tap Cancel (upper-left).
  10. If available, tap Advanced then verify the following:
    • Mailbox Behaviors:
      Note This setting may not be available, depending on the email provider.
      • Drafts Mailbox
      • Deleted Mailbox
      • Archive Mailbox
    • Move Discarded Messages Into:
      Note Selected when a check mark is present.
      • Deleted Mailbox
        • If selected, from the Deleted Messages section, tap Remove then select a time frame.
          Note This setting may not be available, depending on the email provider.
      • Archive Mailbox
  11. Verify the following Incoming and S/MIME settings then tap Back icon Account (upper-left).
    • Use SSL
      Note Turned on when the switch is in the green position.
    • Path Prefix
    • Server Port
    • S/MIME
      Note Turned on when the switch is in the green position.
    • Sign
    • Encrypt
  12. Tap Done (upper-right).
