Apple® iPhone® - Enable / Disable / Modify SIM PIN

Caution Enabling the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Personal Identification Number (PIN) locks the SIM card so it can't be used until the correct code is entered. If the incorrect PIN code is entered too many times, refer to Locating the 4G SIM PIN/PUK - My Verizon Website to obtain a new PIN Unblocking Key (PUK).

Note The steps below apply to the following models:

  • iPhone X / XS / XS Max / XR 
  • iPhone 8 / 8 Plus
  • iPhone 7 / 7 Plus
  • iPhone SE
  • iPhone 6 / 6 Plus / 6s / 6s Plus
  • iPhone 5 / 5c / 5s
  • iPhone 4s

 

Enable / Disable SIM PIN

  1. From the Home screen, navigate: Settings Settings icon > Cellular > SIM PIN.
  2. Tap the SIM PIN switch to turn on Switch On or off Switch Off.
  3. Enter the current SIM PIN then tap Done (upper-right).
    Note The default SIM PIN is 1111.

 

Modify SIM PIN

  1. From the Home screen, navigate: Settings Settings icon > Cellular > SIM PIN.
  2. Ensure the SIM PIN switch is turned on Switch On.
  3. Tap Change PIN.
  4. Enter the current SIM PIN then tap Done.
    Note The default SIM PIN is 1111.
  5. Enter the new SIM PIN then tap Done (upper-right).
  6. Re-enter the SIM PIN then tap Done.
